Thanks, April & Sheryl!

I was tagged by April and Sheryl -- so here goes!

(And if you haven't entered my blog contest ... check it out here!)

Rules:
1). Link the person that tagged you.
2).Mention the rules on your own blog.
3). List 6 unspectacular things about you.
4).Taggify 6 other bloggers.

So here is my "Un-Spectacular" list:

1. I love the colours brown and pink together. For some very strange reason, I have always been drawn to this colour combination. I don't know why, but it's just one of the things about myself that even I don't understand!

2. I love sparkly shoes. Now, you wouldn't guess this most of the time because I am a jeans-and-sweatshirt-ponytail-comfy-looking kind of person. However, there is nothing in the world that makes me feel more glamorous than a beautiful, blingy pair of high heeled shoes.

3. I have a clone. Yep, I do. My daughter is exactly like me, and even though it drives me crazy most days, I am secretly proud that my genes were dominant enough to produce this precious child who I can connect with and understand so well.

4. I live, eat and breathe scrapbooking. Go figure! 'Nuff said.

5. I am scared of what is under my sink. It's a long story. Maybe another day.

6. I think it is beautiful when I see a very very old married couple holding hands and smiling at each other. That is what I want to be like when I grow up. :)

OK -- so let's "taggify"! I'm trying NOT to tag people that have already been tagged, so tag to Sue, Lori, Isa, Dawn, Leica, and Melissa!

Newz & Reviewz

Wow! It has been a few weeks since I've been on here...life just kind of takes you by the ear and drags you along with it, doesn't it?

Well, what's new? Not so much and lots all at the same time. We've been super busy with all of the fall activities starting up again...school...piano...swimming lessons...catechism...and now hockey.

To all you hockey moms out there -- kudos to you! If you have any suggestions on how to stay sane through hockey season, please share! Curtis is starting hockey next week with a "conditioning camp" and then practises start and then games and then fundraisers and then...well, you know the drill! It's our first season ever, so I have no idea what to expect except that I am going to be doing a lot of driving and eating a lot of rink burgers. Hmmmmm...sounds like I may have to up the ol' exercise routine at the same time, hey? Oy! Do I really know what I've signed up for?

We've been also busy with a new addition to our family...my sister was married last weekend! It was a lot of fun -- my new BIL's family is so wonderful. We had a blast celebrating with them, and I am super happy that she is going to have such a warm and welcoming group of "in-laws". And as far as my new BIL goes -- I couldn't be happier. He is everything I've hoped my little sister could find. I am very fond of D. and he is a big part of our family already. :D

I said "Newz" -- and you have most of it. What about the "Reviewz"? I just feel like sending a big "toot" to some of my favorite things today and just maybe you'll find some ideas, things, or places that make your list of favorites too!

And hey -- while we are at it, let's return the favour, shall we? If you've read this, post a comment and let me know what your favorite "thing" is and after a week (Hmmmm...that is October 16th, people...let me just write that on my calendar) I'll choose one person using the random number generator and send you a RAK! Let's see...what do I have...how about a $10 gift certificate at Just Cre8? Sure! That sounds good! Then you can use it just in time for....well, I'll leave that for later!

OK...here are some of my favorite things right now!

1. A Layout:

This is a LO I did a short while back, and I don't know why, but I absolutely love the way it turned out. I meant to submit it a couple of times, but I kind of got busy and missed the deadlines so here it is. It is really simple and took a short time to do, except for the Prima "bling" frame. Between Laura at JSI and I, we managed to four-handedly apply it where I wanted. (Thanks, chicka!) I've included some closeups of the mirror -- and in case you are wondering, the large mirror isn't red -- it's pink. It's reflecting my sweater that I am wearing today.

2. Online Scrapbooking Store:

I guess this isn't "news", but I love love love the atmosphere at Just Cre8! It is THE friendliest, most happening place I have ever had the priviledge of being a part of. And we do have some news over there! Lots of it, actually.

Just Cre8 is having the "Gr8 Cre8ive Idol Contest" again! The winner gets a product package worth $100 and a Guest Designer Spot for 3 months. And the runner up and the last 10 finalists all win prizes too! This year, we have a panel of judges deciding who will win and there are no eliminations. There are only 5 challenges to complete! So if you want more details (and I know you do! This is an awesome team to be a part of!) check it out here.

Plus, we are having our second annual Revive and Rejuven8 Crop on Oct 17-18-19. Lots of challenges, free classes, and games -- and prizes by the dozen. So please come join us because it is easy and it is fun and it is free! And, trust me, Sue's prizes are awesome! There is even a set of Canadian Scrapbooker Basics volumes to be given away and you definitely don't want to miss that! You can find all of the details here on the forum.

3. A New Venture

My friend Melissa has started up a new photo-printing store! Green Pixel Printing is a Canadian (Saskatchewan, in fact!) printing store that caters specifically to scrapbookers -- digital and traditional and everything in between. You can get prints that are all different sizes, from 12"x12" to 5"x7" and even HUGE mondo prints up to 12"x36"!! Very reasonable prices and flat rate shipping. Check it out!

4. A totally unrelated blog

Have you seen this? It's CakeWrecks, and it makes me laugh every day. If you haven't checked it out before, go back and read the older posts. I like the "Poop cake" myself. LOL I think that post is called "Lost in Translation".

I hope you enjoy!
