Photo Madness

Some of you know that I finally was able to buy a DSLR camera a few months ago. I've wanted one for ages and I finally found the right one for me. I have a Nikon D40 with a 18-55mm lens.

For Mother's Day I recieved (yes...I made a few suggestions!) a new lens -- a Nikkor AFS 55-200mm VR -- for my D40. I was so hoping to get this lens before soccer season was over!

Well, DD had a game last night and I had a chance to try out my lens at the game. I think I am in love! For the first time, I was able to get the shots I wanted. Crisp, clear action shots with great colour -- and easily too! Shots that look like you are on the field but you are really sitting back in the cheering section.
All this without being a professional of any kind. (sigh) Life is good.

Here are a few of my favorites:

This one was when she realized that I was taking way too many pics of her:

Wow, that lens gets you so close to the action, we can see just how much DD looks like her Mom! What a cutie! Congrats, I love my 300mm lens - now I just want a super-wide-angle like Julie's.

When i was home last week, we went to my nephew's soccer game. Of course I had to bring the camera as well and got some great shots! I'm such a proud auntie!
