Life Is...

Someone once told me that life is what happens while you are making other plans. No kidding!

Life is changing for us big time. Everything seems a little topsy turvy, and we've been spending a lot of time getting ready for a new lifestyle -- and we have no clue what it is going to be like!

What's happening? I'll give you the short and sweet rundown...

DH is changing jobs in a major way. He's been working for the same company for eight years -- and they are awesome people to work for. But he's recently decided that he wants to direct his own future, so he is leaving his job to work his way into my dad's construction company. This is a completely different industry than he is currently in -- but he's smart and ambitious and hardworking. I just know he will succeed. But it means a lot of changes for us as a family -- work hours, his availability, and he's going to be doing a lot more physical work -- so he will probably be exhausted when he gets home. He's excited, though, and so am I. And so is my dad. DH is going to bring a lot of new things into the company too. This is our major whirlwind!

And I've been asked to teach a few scrapbooking classes too --

First, I'm teaching a class at Just Scrap It -- my LSS in Saskatoon. It's my first class there, and I am so excited! It's this Friday, April 4th. It's a tin box album -- and students get to choose their theme. If you are interested, check out the information here: Amanda's Tin Box Class.

I've also been asked to teach a class at a charity retreat this summer by a new company called TwoLittleCupcakes. I am so honoured! The crop is on July 19th -- and looks like it's going to be piles of fun. :) All proceeds from the day will be going toward the Children's Health and Hospital Foundation -- so I am glad that I can be a part of that. Registration has started, and if you want to be a part of it you can find what you need at the TwoLittleCupcakes blog here!

Spring is coming -- which means many things....soccer...yardwork...renovations...lake season...it's all heading our way! Not to mention, we are still getting ready for DD's confirmation in May and my sister's wedding in October.

And I have a new addiction....digital scrapbooking! Mom and I went to P.A. to see an amazingly talented, generous friend of ours who spent the entire day teaching us idiots how to digiscrap! I learned so much from her -- and I'm working on a few pages right now -- not to mention downloading elements like a madwoman. Plus, I have used some of the techniques she showed me to create elements for the website that DH is developing for my dad's company.

And -- I have to share -- this was us Saturday morning:

I'm not in this pic -- because I was taking the Timmy's run -- but we all gathered at 7 am to register for JSI's Spring Fling crop. Sold out in about 15 minutes...but we got in!

This crop is always so much fun -- we've made it a tradition to crop together at JSI. Janet, Corinne, Andrea, Dawn, and myself -- my best scrapping buds -- and I wouldn't miss it for the world!

That's life in a nutshell -- thanks for listening -- and now I've got to go get some work done. I have a bunch of housework calling my name (unfortunately) and I'm not letting myself scrap until it is done!

Cheers!

My hubby changed careers last year. It meant 6 months of living apart while he was training, a move to anywhere in Canada, and a lot of uncertainty. He loves his new job. Everyday is a new challenge. We were able to stay in SK and moved to a smaller city that we are enjoying. A new house that we love and another set of great neighbours. Everything has just worked out.
